Happy 1st day of October loves!
Fall is officially in full swing which means I couldn't go another day without doing a fall makeup tutorial for all of you! This post is going to be formatted a little different than all of my previous posts because I want to include as much detail as possible. I will be showing you my step by step process to get my favorite fall glam look. Disclaimer: this isn't an every day look rather a look for an event or a day out but hey if you want to wear it every day go for it! I hope you enjoy and as always all of the products I mention will be linked at the end.
Step 1:
I always start my eyeshadow looks by priming my lids using the Urban Decay Primer Potion and then I set that with my Laura Mercier Translucent Powder. This helps ensure your eyeshadow lasts longer and doesn't separate throughout the day. It should look something like this when you start:

Step 2:
Now getting into the eyeshadow, you always want to start with a transition shade to make blending easier as you build up pigmentation. For this look I am going to be using the Jaclyn Hill x Morphe palette and I'm going to start by applying the shade "Butter" to the crease with a MAC 217 brush. You want to go in about 2 or 3 times with your transition shade and use windshield wiper motions (back and forth) to build the color in your crease specifically. When you're done it should look something like this and the color I used is emphasized with the white heart:
Step 3:
This is where the creativity begins. For this step you want to go in with a burnt orange shade to build the foundation for the look. You want to concentrate the color in the outer V of the eye and then drag whatever is leftover on the brush towards the inner corner. It should look like a reverse ombre with the deeper color at the bottom and it gets lighter as you go up. Remember to blend, blend, blend! After this step your eye should look similar to this:
Step 4:
This step is where you really deepen the color in the outer corner of the eye. For this you want to go in with a smaller, more tightly packed brush to really get your desired pigmentation. You're going to want to go in with a burgundy/deep wine shade for this and really pack it on the lower part of your outer corner. As always, you can blend in with whatever is left on your brush but make sure to concentrate the color in the specific area mentioned. When you're done you should see something similar to this:
Step 5:
Now here's when the real fun comes in! For this step you want to use a small packing brush so you can really work the shimmer in. A useful tip but not necessary is to spray your brush with MAC's Fix plus to get extra pigmentation. For this step I used a beautiful gold shimmer and worked it in to the main part of the lid, avoiding the areas where the other shades were. Once I was done I went in with the burnt orange and blended the areas where the shimmer met the mattes so there were no harsh lines. It should look like this when you're done:
Final steps:
These next steps are optional but if you feel comfortable with them I think they add a lot to the look.
- Use a black liquid liner to do a winged eyeliner.
- Add on your favorite pair of lashes.
- Add some white liner to your waterline to make your eyes pop.
- Using a pencil brush add the burnt orange shade you used to your lower lash line and blend it.
- Mascara!
- Add a bold lip and you are set! I am wearing Lovebug by Colourpop.
