Pressed Juicery Cleanse Review

Happy 2018 everybody! I hope you all had a lovely New Years and that your years are off to a good start. If they aren't, remember you still have plenty of time left to make this year brighter. I mentioned on Instagram stories that I started off the year by doing a 3-day juice cleanse and a lot of you showed interest in hearing my experience. So, I decided to put together a summary of what the experience was like and my best tips for those of you interested in trying it out. I hope you enjoy and if you have any additional questions feel free to reach out!

For my cleanse, I decided to do the Pressed Juicery 3-day Cleanse (the 2nd option of the 3). They describe it as, "Our most popular and balanced cleanse. Cleanse 2 is perfect for those who want to balance great tasting, easy to drink juices with high efficacy." This cleanse comes with 6 juices and 2 optional waters ( a chlorophyll water you drink throughout the day and an aloe water you have before bed) each day for a total of 24 juices. Usually it costs $140 total but right now they have a promotion going on so it is only $75 total which is a really great deal. If you are considering it, they have this promotion going on until the 16th of this month so take advantage of it!

There are 4 categories of juices: greens, roots, citrus, and waters. Here is a closer look at some of the juices so you can see what kinds of ingredients they have in them:

What everyone asks me:

  1. Aren't you SO hungry? Truthfully, no. I find the juices quite filling and I make sure to drink a lot of water throughout the day when I'm not having a juice. The instructions tell you to have a juice every 2 hours so you are putting a lot of liquid into your body and it is easy to feel full. I do get random cravings throughout the day of foods I don't usually eat, like a cup of noodles or hot wings but I try to ignore them lol. If you are juicing and get hungry they recommend you have small snacks like a few almonds or some vegetables.
  2. Why do you do it? The first time I did it was for weight loss and I did in fact lose 5 pounds after the 3 days which I imagine was mainly water weight I was retaining. This time though, I wanted to start the year with a clean slate and I thought it would be good to clear my body of as many unhealthy foods and toxins as possible. Once I finish I can start eating healthy and working out without feeling crappy about the junk I had put in me over the holidays.
  3. What's the worst part? I think for me the worst part was how tired I got. The first time I did the cleanse I was in high school and playing softball so getting through a school day and a 2 hour game was hard when all I was having was juices. You can't drink coffee or caffeinated tea which was something I did every morning so letting that go was rough. This time around I am on break so I can sleep in and not feel so tired but I did get a really bad headache the first day so it isn't all super refreshing.

Tips:
  1. Try to juice at a time where you aren't super overwhelmed with work or school because you will have less energy.
  2. The days leading up to your cleanse try to eat in smaller amounts to help prepare your body for only having juice.
  3. You will pee A LOT so try to have a bathroom around lol.
  4. Try the juices before you buy them because I personally didn't like some of them and had them give me alternatives that gave me the same nutritional value. Not a fan of ginger or beets, #sorrynotsorry.
  5. Try to avoid people who are eating. I know it sounds weird but don't go to the lunch room or a restaurant and watch everyone eat while you drink your juice. It's no fun.
  6. Avoid intense workouts. If you must, do some light cardio or something that doesn't require too much effort because your body isn't really energized enough to sustain you through something physically challenging.
  7. Put your health first. If you start juicing and you feel like you can't keep going for whatever reason, don't beat yourself up and remember to take care of yourself.
  8. Stay on track with what time you are supposed to have each juice because you will start to get hungry if you miss one. Set reminders on your phone if you have to.
  9. If you can, try to do it with a friend so you can motivate each other. Shoutout to my sister who has kept me going both times!
  10. It's not as scary as it seems I promise. If you want, start with a 1 day cleanse and then a few months later try more days. You'll get there!
If you decide to do it, I'd love to hear your experience! I hope you enjoyed the post and see you again soon. Xoxo.
