Holiday Party Makeup Inspiration
12:33:00 PM
As we mentioned before, for the remainder of this month we wanted to continue with our holiday inspired theme and today we decided to show you all the makeup look we would wear during this time. We both chose very different looks, and we hope this gives you all some inspiration for your own looks this month and anytime after that! If you have any questions as to how we did anything or the products we used please leave a comment below! Unfortunately, as many other students, we are both swamped with finals this week so we will not have a new post for you all until this weekend. Good luck to all of you taking finals! Xoxo.

For the holidays my absolute favorite makeup look is a bold red lip. I think red is a color that looks good on everyone and really makes you pop in pictures, which we all know there are many of during this time of year. I decided to make the lips the standout feature of my look, and went with a natural smokey eye. As you can see I made an attempt at getting a winged eyeliner, but as I've said before, a thin line and a shaky hand is not a good combination. Here are the products I used:
Face: I started off by applying my moisturizer, CeraVe, which is the only brand that has kept my face hydrated and not given me major breakouts. I then primed my face using Benefit's, the POREfressional face primer mixed with their Stay Flawless 15-hour primer, which help even out your skin so your makeup lasts and looks even.
Foundation and Concealer: MAC Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 in shade NC37 for foundation, and Maybelline New Tork Instant Age Rewind Concealer in Medium (under my eyes, down the bridge of my nose, around my nose, and in my T-zone where I often experience redness).
Powder and Contour: To set my foundation I use MAC's Mineralize Skinfinish Natural Powder in the shade Medium Dark. For bronzer I used Guerlain's Terracotta Bronzing Powder in shade 02. For blush I used MAC's Sheertone Shimmer Blush in the color "Peachykeen." And finally, for highlighter I used MAC's Extra Dimension Powder in the color "A Natural Flirt."
Eyes: For eyeshadow I used Urban Decay's NAKED palette, specifically the colors Sidecar (rose gold), Half Baked (champagne), and Darkhorse (dark brown). For my almost decent winged eyeliner, I used MAC's fluidline eye pencil in the shade Black Brilliance. Finally, for mascara I used MAC's In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash (highly recommend).
Brows: MAC's Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in the shade "Lowlights," which I apply using a small angled brush.
Lips: NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in the color "Cruella," and MAC's Matte Lipstick in the color "Ruby Woo."
This look definitely requires some time and effort, but I really enjoyed the final look and I think you could all rock it in your own way!

For this makeup look, I chose to do a simple and more natural look. I am a huge fan of the bold red lip, but I figured that going with a pink tinted gloss would be a really nice alternative. I know that not all of you are into makeup, and may occasionally put on a little bit of makeup to accentuate those beautiful features, so I wanted to prove that less can more especially during this holiday season. The products I used are as listed:
Face:
Moisturizer with SPF which none of you should skip, especially if you use makeup.
Maybelline NY Instant Age Rewind Concealer in Medium - under my eyes, down the bridge of my nose, brow bones, and around my nose.

Maybelline NY Instant Age Rewind Concealer in Medium - under my eyes, down the bridge of my nose, brow bones, and around my nose.
Brows:
Anastasia Beverly Hills Wiz Brow Wiz in Dark Brown
Eyes:
Sephora Collection Long-Lasting 12HR Wear Eyeliner in Matte Black for a mini catwing.
Maybelline NY Great Lash Washable Mascara in Brownish Black.
Lips:
Chapstick to lay down a moisturizing base, followed by a topcoat of Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipstick in 74 Parfait.
Blush:
Joues Contraste Powder Blush in 80 Jersey.
The products I decided to skip for this look, but would use if I wanted the fuller coverage, include foundation, eyeshadow, bronzer, and a highlight.
